Destruction sweeps through north San Angelo

Destruction sweeps through north San Angelo ripping off rooftops, destroying homes, and leaving families wondering what to do next.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Laura Bell has been living off Bradford Street in San Angelo for 7 years and watched her neighborhood become almost unrecognizable.

“I look outside I open the door and the wind just started roaring and I could see the tornado, so I grab my little one ran to the bathroom told my grown kid to get in the bath tub,” Bell said.

With her home completely in the dark from losing power, only lit by candles, Bell described the damages to her house and surrounding property.

“The front bed rooms it has a crack in the ceiling where the water is running down, the windows are broken, the windows are busted, and flooding all in the house and the sheet rock,” Bell said.

Even with Bell’s own worries still looming in the back of her mind, she made it her mission to make sure her neighbors were okay.

“As soon as the storm past we checked on both of our neighbors the old lady across the way her entire roof is missing and there’s one guy across the street who had to go to the hospital for minor bruises,” Bell said.

Bell is devastated but grateful that her family and loved ones are okay and can only hope they can recover before the next storm hits again.
