ABILENE, Texas — An improperly discarded cigarette caused a balcony fire late Friday morning an Abilene apartment complex on Nonesuch Road, the Abilene Fire Department said.
Crews were dispatched at around 11:40 a.m. Friday and found smoke and flames coming from a second-story balcony. The fire was contained quickly, limiting damage to the building's exterior only.
The AFD said no injuries were reported and no interior damages were reported in the building.
Estimated damages are $2,500 and the fire was determined to be accidental.
