EASTLAND COUNTY, Texas — A 30-year-old Mesquite woman was killed Saturday morning in a crash on Interstate 20 in Eastland County.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said in a preliminary crash report Rachel Alice Rue, 30, of Mesquite, was driving a sedan west on Interstate 20 at the 338-mile marker. Rue passed another driver and was returning to the right lane of westbound traffic on the interstate.

Rue reportedly continued to steer north, exiting the roadway and entered a ditch, hitting several trees off the road.

She was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon by Dr. Graig Daniel.
