ABILENE, Texas — A 39-year-old woman was killed Monday evening after she was struck by a vehicle in the 3100 block of South 1st Street.
According to the Abilene Police Department, at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, officers responded to a call for service of a major motor vehicle collision in the 3100 block of South 1st Street.
The original caller told dispatch that a female pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in the roadway.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that a 39-year-old female, later identified as Rosie Glasscock Reeh, had been struck by a westbound vehicle on South 1st Street.
Reeh was transported by ambulance to a local hospital because of injuries sustained in the collision. She was later pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Mike McAullife. Next of kin has been notified.
This investigation is being conducted by Abilene Police Department’s Traffic Division officers. Additional information may be released at a later time as it becomes available, the APD release said.
