Who are you?
- My name is Damien Bartonek and I'm a sports/news multiskilled journalist for FOX West Texas. I spent all of my life in the Austin and San Antonio areas and graduated from Texas State University in fall 2022.
What are your interests?
- I love mixed martial arts, it is probably my favorite sport. I train jiu-jitsu myself, so I really am engulfed by that culture and lifestyle, I even run my own MMA show here for FWTX. Outside of that, I'm a pretty big foodie and enjoy spending time with my family. I'd rather surround myself with those that love me rather than those that like me.
What do you like about working at FOX West Texas?
- I like the energy and the transparency of my peers. We all can lean on one another in different ways and for many of us away from home, that is a sigh of relief.
What's one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
- I hate ice cream and do not like many desserts. I have more fingers on one hand than desserts/sweets I like.
