After 12 seasons, 245 episodes and 275 cases solved, Fox’s crime drama Bones bids farewell Tuesday night.
“It’s sad to say goodbye to Emily, but it’s not really goodbye. It’s just, really, we’ve shared such good memories,” David Boreanez said.
“We’re going to be hanging out all the time,” Emily Deschanel said.
“It’s crazy. How did that happen? I told Michaela [Conlin] when we started the show, I was like, ‘We just have to get used to the idea of everything going well,’ but I had no idea it would be 12 years,” Eric Millegan said.
“That's amazing to say,” Tamara Taylor said.
“That’s crazy,” Millegan said.
Without giving away too much, stars Deschanel and Boreanez say fans will be satisfied with how the series ends.
“It’s kind-of like the fireworks at the end of the day, Fourth of July,” Boreanez said. “But I think at the same time, it’s going to be very satisfying for the fans, and I think, hopefully, I hope, that’s who we do it all for is the fans. And I guess they’ll tell us how they feel about it.”
They all managed to take some souvenirs from set.
“We wanted to fully loot, but we couldn’t,” Taylor said. “Just by circumstance, we couldn’t really go for what we’d been eyeballing for a decade, so we went for badges and…”
“Whatever we could stuff inside our bags easily,” Conlin said.
And for Deschanel, she says the last day of shooting was really emotional.
“When I wrapped, I told people to follow the trail of tears to find me. It was very emotional. You know, you think there’s a lot of build-up, you know? As we were doing the episode, it would be like, ‘Okay, this is your last scene in the lab’ or ‘this is your last scene with this character’ or ‘this is the last scene in your house’ and each thing felt sad and big, but it doesn’t really prepare you for the end,” Deschanel said. “But, you know, I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished. I’m proud of all the episodes we’ve done.”
