Concho Valley natives open up "Mad Messy" cheesesteak and burger truck

Father and Son duo, James and Andrew Pettit, opened the truck off of W Beauregard on Tuesday evening.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Mad Messy now has a home for all of West Texas to enjoy after their soft launch opening on Tuesday evening. The food truck is run by a father and son duo, James and Andrew Pettit, who make everything from cheesesteaks to cheeseburgers, fresh every day.

Both men have a passion for food, and have dreamed of this day for years. Now that it has come and gone, James could not be more proud.

"I am just blessed. I am sitting at the number one location in San Angelo for a food truck with my son behind me helping me run this thing. So, (I am) just blessed, Pettit said.

It has been a long time coming for these two men, for the past two years, they exclusively served at Goodfellow Air Force base. After a health scare put James on the sidelines for a while, and a recent San Angelo food truck moved locations, Mad Messy soon found their forever home.

"The timing of this was perfect. When Lonestar Cheeseburger was here, we all loved it. I knew the owner (of Lonestar Cheeseburger) and when he told me he was leaving, he said there is nobody better (to take over the location off W Beauregard)," Pettit said.

Now that Mad Messy has a home for the foreseeable future off of 333 W Beauregard, their focus shifts towards giving each customer an unforgettable experience, one cheesesteak, or cheeseburger, at a time.
