SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Palmer Feed and Supply annual "Sack It - Don't Wrap It" campaign provided funds for the West Texas Boys Ranch, and the Sonrisas Therapeutic Riding Program.
According to a press release, sewing presents in a feed bag rather than wrapping them is a decades-old tradition for the Palmer family. Each year, the family invites the public to have their gifts "sacked" for a $3 donation, which they match and donate to local charities.
Palmer Feed hosted representatives from both the boys ranch and Sonrisas Wednesday and presented each with a check for $1,800.
“We love helping these two organizations. Sonrisas and the Boys Ranch are related to the agricultural and equine industries that Palmer Feed serves," Palmer Feed general manager Bridget Scott said. "But more importantly, they help young people and reflect the generosity and the commitment to others that San Angelo is known for."
The campaign sacked 200 more gifts in 2020 than the previous year.
Additionally, the business has provided various donations and hosted fundraising events.
