MILAN, Ill. — It's a special day for the Milan McDonald's as one of their crew members is receiving an award. Nate Coleman has worked on the front lines at this McDonald's store for three years and strives every shift to bring a smile to people's faces.
"This really meant a lot to me when all the customers would respond in our customer satisfaction scores how much you made their day, every day when they'd come in," McDonald's owner Trina Gendron told Nate.
Greeted by applause from the owners and managers, Nate Coleman was given a "1 in 8" letterman's jacket, which represents one in every eight workers who perform above and beyond as a crew member at McDonald's locations.
"How I look at it with customer service is this -- you go to restaurants and sometimes out of the two [categories] it's either good food or good service, so I try to help with the customer service so that way if anything is messed up, it's easier for the customer," Coleman said.
Coleman went on to say his key to success in his job is to create an environment where work can be enjoyable from the crew members to the customers in the lobby. Earning him a few nicknames in the store including his favorite: Drive Thru Nate.
"I try to be that consistent positive for people because you never know what they might be going through, and I try to make sure whatever they're going through I make it better for them," Coleman said.
