SAN ANGELO, Texas — The City of San Angelo Water Utilities department will resume charging the 15 percent late fees for water utility payments June 1.
Late fees were not charged for the months of April and May. The City said in a press release, it will not disconnect water due to non-payment for the month of June. There have been no disconnections since March 18.
The city says it understands times are difficult and wants to assist in the process of helping customers.
Regular operating practices of disconnecting water service for non-payment will resume July 1.
The Pubic Utility Commission voted on May 14 to continue the suspension of disconnections for non-payment of water and sewer utilities regulated by the PUC.
Customers who are behind are encouraged to contact Water Customer Service representatives at 325-657-4323 to setup a payment plan.
The City is taking applications by appointment only for rent/mortgage assistance to help with COVID-19 recovery. For more information on the program or to obtain an application, visit cosatx.us/chs.
