ABILENE, Texas — Big brothers big sisters is a mentor-ship program between leaders of the community and the youth.
"Now more than ever it's important for our little's to still feel connected," said Market President Mark Rogers.
There is currently over 350 active matches of mentors and mentees in the big country - who are trying to stay connected in a time of social distancing.
They have had to get creative and make hangouts virtual- but they believe in their mission and the positive outcomes it brings the youth not just in the big country but nationwide.
“Its always an essential mission but now during the shelter in place it has become even more essential ..” Said Rogers.
There are still 127 little's on the waiting list for a mentor in the Big Country.
