SAN ANGELO, Texas — Construction and paving firm Reece Albert Inc. was awarded the North Chadbourne Street project bid in the amount of $6.22 million at the San Angelo City Council meeting Tuesday. The San Angelo-based company was the sole respondent to request for bids.
According to an City of San Angelo press release, the overall project includes roadway rehabilitation and utility infrastructure improvements, the latter of which were bid separately and completed in June 2022.
Construction is projected to begin January 2024, and is anticipated to have a six-month construction time frame.
The project will include stabilization of the roadway base layer and concrete improvements at the approaches of driveways, intersections and gutters, utilizing a method called full-depth reclamation (FDR) which was recently used along Rio Concho Drive. This method aims to provide a more robust roadway with enhanced longevity across the entire corridor.
