SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Paint Brush Alley Market Days event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 22 at Paintbrush Alley, 33 W. Twohig St. and the Pop-Art Museum, 125 W. Twohig Ave.
According to Jaton Hampton, event organizer, the event came about because she and several friends were looking for a new vendor event. They also wanted to incorporate local artists, musicians, food and the community.
"We reached out to Downtown San Angelo, and we asked them if we could use Paintbrush Alley and the Pop-Art Museum, and they said yes," Hampton said. "After the pandemic and everything being shut down, this is just a perfect opportunity for everybody to get together and spend the day outside, shopping, enjoying music and enjoying the art San Angelo has to offer."
The event is family- and pet-friendly and will feature live music, vendors, craft-makers and a face painter for the children.
Vendors include a vendor who sells gourmet dog treats, food and snow cone vendors, just to name a few.
In addition to a DJ, there will be approximately 20 vendors at the Pop-Art Museum. The museum is approximately a block and a half from the alley.
Attendees can park on the street; however, paring in the parking lot next to the office furniture store will not be allowed.
"We’re really excited to have the event and be able to showcase what downtown San Angelo has to offer," Hampton said. " Also what Art in Uncommon Places has been able to put together for our town."
Hampton said she thanks the Downtown San Angelo Inc. and Art in Uncommon Places for allowing the use of their space. She also appreciates all the nearby businesses for being patient as they prepare for the event.
