For complaints, concerns and crises, tell it to TxDOT

SAN ANGELO, Texas — If you want improvements to your city's transportation system, TxDOT is giving you an opportunity to tell them what it needs. The agency is hosting multiple pop-up events to share their plans for improving transportation across the state -- whether that's by bus, train, or electric scooter -- and they want the public to give their two cents on the matter.

In West Texas, TxDOT is hosting events in Sweetwater at the First Financial Bank on Saturday, October 5, the YMCA of San Angelo on Friday, October 18, and at the Brownwood Event Center Complex on Saturday, October 19.

TxDOT has two plans they want to share for 2050 and beyond. First is the Statewide Multimodal Transit Plan, which includes buses, trains and on-demand rideshare. The second is the Statewide Active Transportation Plan for human-powered modes, such as walking, cycling, mobility aides, e-scooters and more.

These plans are meant to boost mobility and connectivity across the state as it rapidly grows, with input from both communities and stakeholders.

But you don't need to show up to make your opinion heard. You can also submit feedback through an online survey available from October 4 through November 4. If that doesn't work for you, you can also share your opinion via email at PTN_Plans@txdot.gov, mail to PO Box 5459 Austin, TX 78763 and text or leave a voicemail at (800) 671-9854.

If you need a translator or interpreter or have a disability and require accommodations for the in-person events, call (800) 671-9854 at least seven days prior to the event so TxDOT can make the necessary arrangements.
