SAN ANGELO, Texas — Sitting at your favorite restaurant may now seem as if it’s a thing of the past.
To ensure safety through social distancing, restaurants were forced to shut their dining rooms temporarily.
The shutdown has meant a loss of funds and employees, leaving many restaurants owners in a state of limbo trying to figure out their next step.
"It's been really hard cause I worry about our business most of all I worry about our employees being without jobs," Catfish Corner owner Glenna McQueen said.
McQueen is taking this time to help the community. With an abundance of food on the shelves, she has decided to donate it.
McQueen has distributed the food to local churches, organizations and her employees.
If she can't run her business as usual, she wants to make sure everyone can have a hot meal to eat.
"I would rather give it to somebody than to see it go in the trash to me that is a sin," McQueen said. "There are to many hungry people that need food."
McQueen knows all these precautions are to keep everyone in the community healthy and safe.
"I think that panicking is the wrong thing to do on this. I think everybody needs to try to stay safe stay in your homes as much as possible," she said. "So we can open back up and get all of our employees back to work."
A sign on the door said the restaurant will re-open April 4.
