CALLAHAN COUNTY, Texas — Texas Department of Transportation contractors will begin work Monday, Dec. 7 on a widening project at SH 36 in Callahan County.
According to a TxDOT press release, the project is focused on the intersection of SH 36 and US 283. The project will add acceleration and deceleration lanes to SH 36.
Contract Paving Company of Tye was awarded the $1,433,560 contract, which is expected to be completed in Spring 2021.
Digital boards will advise drivers of the upcoming work zone and there will be various lane closures as work progresses.
Drivers should reduce speed in work zones and look for crewmen. To avoid minor delays, use alternate routes.
