A crash in south Abilene claimed the life of one individual.
At approximately 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, the Abilene Police Department responded to a major motor vehicle collision at the intersection of South 7th Street and South Mockingbird Lane.
A bicyclist was traveling west in the 2800 block of South 7th Street. A 2015 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east in the 2900 block of South 7th Street, and attempted to turn north onto South Mockingbird Lane, colliding with the cyclist in the intersection.
The driver and lone occupant of the Silverado, a 16-year-old male, was not injured.
The cyclist, Victoria Revilla, 52, of Abilene, was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
On Monday, next of kin notified the Traffic Division that the cyclist died from her injuries at the hospital.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
