ABILENE, Texas — An Abilene woman is in the Taylor County Jail on a charge of second-degree felony aggravated assault after a shooting left an Abilene man injured.
According to the Abilene Police Department, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, police dispatch received multiple calls of gunshots at an apartment complex in the 3500 block of Curry Lane in south Abilene.
Officers found a 19-year-old man with multiple gunshots. The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance and is reportedly recovering from his injuries.
APD said a preliminary investigation shows the victim was outside of the apartment complex when a dark-colored four-door vehicle approached and someone inside fired several rounds in his direction.
He was hit multiple times and the vehicle left the scene.
Detectives identified at least two possible suspects and the vehicle involved in this incident.
APD SWAT and CID investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Big Spring Thursday.
One person, Arianna Ornelas, 19, was arrested on an aggravated assault warrant.
She was taken back to Abilene and is in the Taylor County Jail, charged with second-degree felony aggravated assault.
Police are looking into the motive and relationship of the people involved and say other arrests are expected in this case.
