COMANCHE, Texas — Two people have been arrested in connection to the September 2021 murder of a 72-year-old man in Comanche.

According to a press release from the Comanche Police Department, it was contacted by a family member of Carl Woolsey, 72.

The family member told police they had been unable to contact Woolsey for a substantial period of time.

In the early stages of the investigation, the release said it appeared Woolsey had been the victim of foul play.

The Texas Department of Public Safety Texas Rangers Division was contacted and a local Texas Ranger joined the investigative team. Comanche Police Department investigators and the Texas Rangers continued the investigation and developed two specific individuals of interest.

On Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, those two people were contacted at an address in DeLeon. One was identified as Misty Rene Woolsey, 44, and the second is her son, Ryan Dallas Brown, 22.  Misty Woolsey is the victim's common-law wife, according to Comanche Assistant Police Chief, Kelly Davis.
