In the early morning hours of Oct. 18, 2020, San Angelo Police Department officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Pecan Street for a report of shots fired.

When they arrived, they found Dagan in a nearby alley suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to a 2020 SAPD press release.

Dagan was taken to Shannon Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. The release said Garcia was found walking away from the scene by officers conducting burglary patrol in the neighborhood.

Garcia was also one of four men indicted for an April 2021 fight at the Tom Green County Detention Center, where three correctional officers were injured. That case, according to court documents, is still pending.
