SAN ANGELO, Texas — At approximately 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, San Angelo Police Department officers responded to the 500 block of East Harris Avenue for reports of a prowler attempting to gain entry.

According to an SAPD press release, when officers arrived, they found a 26-year-old female victim had been assaulted by three suspects who forced their way into her residence.

Officers also learned the victim knew two of the suspects and used a knife to fight them off.

The investigation led to Elizabeth Guerrero, 38, and Cecilia Guerrero, 17, being identified as the female suspects. The third suspect is an unidentified man and has not been located.

The suspects were found at a residence in the 400 block of East Harris Avenue, where investigators also found and seized marijuana.

The SAPD's Criminal Investigations Division obtained a probable cause warrant through field investigation and suspect interviews to charge both women with burglary of habitation.

Elizabeth Guerrero was treated at Shannon Medical Center for minor injuries from the knife, and was taken to Tom Green County Jail after her release.

In addition to burglary of habitation, Cecilia Guerrero was also charged with a state felony possession of marijuana.
