GRAPEVINE, Texas — Seven men are behind bars, accused of planning multiple cargo heists that resulted in the theft of millions of dollars of merchandise.
According to the Grapevine Police Department, the investigation started with a warehouse burglary on May 13, 2024. Police said the men cut a hole in the bay door and were able to walk away with $500,000 worth of Ray-Ban glasses and Oculus virtual reality headsets.
In August, GPD said officers spotted a suspect vehicle in Grapevine circling an electronics warehouse. Police said they launched a drone and confirmed an active robbery, but the men got away by employing multiple lookouts through the city who tipped them off to police activity.
However, police said one of the men was arrested that night and six more arrests followed through early November.
Grapevine PD said detectives connected the men and their stolen box truck to several similar burglaries in other North Texas cities dating back to 2023. A release from Grapevine PD said the men were part of a crime ring that was involved in seven heists committed between August 2023 and June 2024.
Grapevine PD arrested Adrian Ellison, 38; Julius Green, 40; Willie Hill, 38; Eric White, 33; Fayzal Kara, 40; Ronnie Vaden, 33; and Derrick White, 38.
All seven men were charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a first-degree felony.
