WINTERS, Texas — Winters Police Department officers were involved in a high-speed chase Tuesday morning.
According to a social media release from the WPD, the pursuit started in Winters and ended on County Road 402 in Ballinger. Runnels County Sheriff's Office and Ballinger Police Department helped with the pursuit, which ended with no injuries.
The vehicle was stolen from a 7-11 in Abilene, at approximately 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to the WPD.
Israel Valdivia, 23, was arrested and charged with reckless driving, fleeing in a vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
The Winters PD later found out Valdivia was wanted for attempted murder in California. The El Cajon Police Department was contacted and arrangements are being made to extradite Valdivia back there for the attempted murder charge.
