UPDATE: Employee theft falsely reported as 'armed robbery' at Rocky Spoonts Real Estate Friday

SAN ANGELO, Texas — UPDATE (4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7): An alleged armed robbery at Rocky Spoonts Real Estate Friday turned out to be an employee theft.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, a report of an armed man demanding cash from the business, then fleeing the scene was false. After investigating the incident, the department determined the theft was internal. 

The SAPD said the investigation is ongoing.

ORIGINAL STORY: The San Angelo Police Department responded to a call of an armed robbery at Rocky Spoonts Real Estate on West Beauregard Friday around lunchtime.

According to the SAPD, the suspect was wearing an all black long-sleeved shirt and a black ski mask and was armed. The suspect was able to run from the scene.

The department is still looking into the investigation and there is no answer on what was stolen. There were injuries reported, however, the SAPD said there is no threat to the community at this time.
