ABILENE, Texas — The Abilene Police Department said Tuesday its Major Investigations Bureau arrested a Winters man on two counts of second-degree felony robbery. According to an APD release, Wyman Cameron Burson III, 31, was booked into the Taylor County Jail Feb. 8, 2022.
Detectives are working on five other cases including two other robberies, an aggravated robbery, an attempted robbery and a theft, that they say Burson's arrest will help close.
The APD said Burson is behind bars for a January 2022 robbery at the Farm and Ranch Western Wear store on Southwest Drive. Surveillance video captured him and with the assistance of tips from the public, Burson was identified, arrested and charged with the crime.
He was implicated in the six other cases mentioned that spanned over two months. The investigations are ongoing.
Burson remains in the Taylor County Jail as the other cases have been or will be filed with the District Attorney’s Office, the release said.
