SAN ANGELO, Texas — In-person Family Day events have returned to the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts. Family Clay Day is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, in the museum's education studio, 1 Love St.
Clay Day is in partnership with Concho Clay Studio and is a free event.
SAMFA’s exhibits currently include "True Texas II: Folk & Traditional Arts from the Concho Valley to the Rio Grande" and "The Angelo State University Art Faculty Biennial Exhibition".
Activities inspired by the exhibits and gallery guides include pinch and coil ceramic pots, coloring table and self-led gallery activities
The education studio opens at 10 a.m. and the galleries open at 11 a.m.
Attendees who want ceramic artwork fired in the kiln will be able to pay a $5 fee for the Concho Clay Studio to fire it for them. Unfired clay can be taken to re-wet and keep playing with at home.
