A release from the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, posted to its Facebook page, said on Wednesday, agents with the Narcotics Unit had been conducting a narcotics trafficking investigation for last few months where pounds of methamphetamine a week were being distributed in Abilene and surrounding towns.
The two arrested were Rick Herrera and his father, Benito Herrera.
A search warrant was conducted at 1134 Cabernet Drive in Abilene. Twenty-six ounces of methamphetamine; an AR 15 pistol and a handgun; along with a large amount of U.S. currency and a vehicle used to transport methamphetamine, were all seized during the operation.
