ABILENE, Tx -- The abandoned Fair Park Elementary school building fire has been extinguished. Now, Abilene fire officials are trying to figure out who sparked that blaze. The crews responded to the fire at around 10:30 Tuesday morning. When they arrived, they found smoke blowing out of the roof as crews were working to find the fire. The school has been abandoned since the mid ‘80s. One neighbor says they saw someone near the building when the fire started.
"He was probably in his late what '20s -- 24, 25 maybe,” says Nearby Neighbor Amber Escamilla. “Walking so we let the police officers know because we didn't know for sure if he had done something or if he was just walking by."
