Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District reports two new cases of COVID-19, bringing total to 11

The report comes on the heels of a City Council meeting where a limited shelter-in-place order has been issued.

ABILENE, Texas — As of Monday, March 30, the reported number of cases of the coronavirus have grown to 11 in Abilene/Taylor County.

The number includes two new positive cases:

- Male in his 30s with a history of travel, who has quarantined at home since symptoms began.
- Male in his 80s with a history of travel, who is hospitalized in stable condition.

The order will begin at noon March 31 and be in place through 11:59 p.m. April 14.

The order will be an extension of closures including the 10-person rule at gatherings. Tobacco stores and retail businesses must cut their total capacity by 50 percent, according to the order.
