ABILENE, Taylor County — The Abilene-Taylor County Health District confirmed five additional COVID-19-related deaths in Taylor County Sunday.
The new deaths bring the total number of COVID-19-related deaths in Taylor County to 220.
The patients were a woman in her 70s, a man in his 30s, a man in his 70s, a woman in her 60s and a woman in her 90s.
The health district also reported 231 new confirmed COVID-19 cases - 129 PCR and 102 antigen.
There were 54 recoveries reported, bringing the total number of recoveries to 9,636.
There were also 130 total hospitalizations included in the report.
The updated number of total hospitalizations for Saturday, Jan. 9 and Sunday, Jan. 10 were not available at the time of the release, according to the health district.
As of Jan. 10, there have been 44,158 PCR and 57,518 antigen tests administered in Taylor County. Of those tests, 5,499 PCR and 6,774 antigen tests were confirmed cases.
Additionally, 38,659 negative PCR and 50,744 negative antigen test results were reported.
