Eighteen additional COVID-19-related deaths reported in Taylor Co. Saturday

One-hundred-six new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 119 total hospitalizations were included in the report.

ABILENE, Taylor County — The Abilene-Taylor County Health District confirmed 18 new COVID-19-related deaths in Taylor County Saturday.

The new deaths bring the total number of COVID-19-related deaths to 161 in the county.

Thirteen of the patients were reported by the state and reconciled in the health district's system, according to the release.

The patients were:

  • a woman in her 70s with pre-existing conditions 
  • a man in his 60s with pre-existing conditions
  • a woman in her 70s with pre-existing conditions
  • a man in his 80s with pre-existing conditions
  • a man in his 70s with pre-existing conditions

The patients reported by the state were:

  • a man in his 70s with pre-existing conditions
  • a woman in her 80s with pre-existing conditions
  • a man in his 80s with pre-existing conditions 
  • a man in his 80s with pre-existing conditions
  • a man in his 90s with pre-existing conditions 
  • a man in his 90s with pre-existing conditions 
  • a woman in her 90s with pre-existing conditions
  • a woman in her 70s with pre-existing conditions 
  • a woman in her 80s with pre-existing conditions
  • a man in his 70s with pre-existing conditions
  • a woman in her 70s with pre-existing conditions
  • a woman in her 90s with pre-existing conditions 
  • a man in his 70s with pre-existing conditions 

The health district said there were 106 new confirmed COVID-19 cases - 64 PCR and 42 antigen.

There were also 116 recoveries reported, bringing the total number of recoveries to 6,752

One-hundred-nineteen total hospitalizations were included in the report.

Taylor County has administered 36,157 PCR and 43,757 antigen tests, of which, 4,187 PCR and 5,222 antigen tests were confirmed cases.

Additionally,  31,970 negative PCR and 38,535  negative antigen tests reported.
