STEPHENVILLE, Texas — The popular Larry Joe Taylor Texas Music Festival & Chili Cook-Off, scheduled for April 20-25, has been rescheduled to Oct. 19-24.

According to a statement released by organizers, the majority of the performers scheduled to play in April are confirmed to perform in October.

Here is the statement released by the organization:

"After consulting with our local and state officials, the Taylor family must announce that LJT’s Texas Music Festival & Chili Cook-off set for April 20-25, 2020 has been postponed. LJT Fest is now rescheduled to October 19-24, 2020 with the vast majority of the April line up confirmed. Like so many other events, mass gathering permits issued by local officials will not be granted in response to the virus outbreak. Right now the goal of the local and state governments is to protect the health of its citizens, law enforcement, and emergency management staff. We support these decisions and hope to get past this time as quickly as possible. We cannot operate a large event without such permit or personnel involved for the safety of everyone.

All current ticket, camping, parking, and VIP holders for the April 2020 event are valid, and we are developing options for those who would like to transfer their tickets/camping to October 2020, April 2021, or would like a refund. We are a small company so it will take us some time to reschedule and contact each buyer, but any purchases to date will of course be honored at the rescheduled date in October 2020 or for the April 2021 event. Ticket holders will be notified by email with the options and procedures to move forward on Monday, March 23rd.

For the first time in 32 years, there are elements beyond our control that could pose a threat to the safety of attendees, staff and artists who help make this event happen. Like everyone else, we are facing many uncertainties of the coronavirus and its effects in the upcoming weeks. When the time is right for you, join us in supporting the Texas Music artists that make up this great scene. We have the best music fans in the world. We look forward to seeing all of you in the future events.
