Three additional COVID-19-related deaths confirmed in Taylor Co. Saturday

ABILENE, Taylor County — The Abilene-Taylor County Health District confirmed three additional COVID-19-related deaths in Taylor County Saturday. 

The new deaths bring the total number of COVID-19-related deaths to 172 in Taylor County.

The patients were a man in his 50s with pre-existing health conditions, a man in his 80s and a man in his 70s. 

It was unknown if the 80-year-old man and the 70-year-old man had pre-existing health conditions, according to the release. 

The health district reported 108 new confirmed COVID-19 cases - 57 PCR and 51 antigen.

There were 82 recoveries reported, bringing the total number of recoveries to 7,623.

Ninety-three total hospitalizations were included in the report.

Taylor County has administered 36,967 PCR and 47,868 antigen tests. Of those tests, 4,561 PCR and 5,645 antigen tests were confirmed cases.

There were also 32,406 negative PCR and 42,223 negative antigen test results reported.
