ABILENE, Texas — At approximately 10:30 a.m. Monday, the Abilene Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 5000 block of Wagon Wheel Avenue.
Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the roof of the structure and were able to contain the fire to the attic. The occupants were not home at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire was determined to be a lightning strike on the roof.
Estimated damage is $20,000.
