More than $114K in grants distributed to Coleman County nonprofits

COLEMAN COUNTY, Texas — More than $114k in total grants from the Coleman County Foundation and Friends of Coleman County have been awarded to Coleman County nonprofits through grant cycles held this year.

Grants totaling $92,299 were awarded by the Coleman County Foundation to these fall recipients:

  1. Christian Family Ministries – Repair commercial stove for the “Hot Meals” program
  2. Coleman County Junior Livestock Association – Purchase new livestock pens
  3. Coleman County Medical Center District Foundation – Storyboard pedestals for historic walking trail
  4. Coleman County Youth Activity Center (CCYAC) – Capital improvements to the outdoor kitchen space at the Bill Franklin Center
  5. Coleman Heritage, Arts & Preservation Society – Update and install new sound system for at the Heritage Hall
  6. Friends of the Coleman Public Library – Summer Reading Program and expansion to include teens and adults
  7. Panther Creek CISD – Purchase of Scotchman ironworker equipment for AG Mechanic and Dual Credit Welding program
  8. Santa Anna ISD – Purchase and install pre-kindergarten playscape
  9. Santa Anna Volunteer Fire Department – Purchase personal protective equipment
  10. South Coleman County Volunteer Fire Department – Purchase and install gutters and fans for the fire station addition
  11. The Ark Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Shelter – General operational support

Grants totaling $22,049 were awarded by the Friends of Coleman County Foundation to these spring recipients:

  1. Christian Family Ministries – “Backpack for Kids” program at the Coleman ISD Elementary School
  2. City of Coleman, Texas – Coleman Police Department multi-threat vest
  3. Coleman County Youth Activity Center (CCYAC) and Expo – CCYAC freezer-refrigerator upgrade
  4. Friends of the Coleman Public Library – “My Little Library” county-wide installation
  5. Holiday Hill, Inc. – Purchase mattresses for residents
  6. Panther Creek CISD (Athletics) – Panther Creek CISD football helmets
  7. Santa Anna ISD – Santa Anna High School commercial photography program
  8. South Coleman County Volunteer Fire Department – Operational needs/rescue backpacks and wildfire tools
