Thursday, Oct. 31, just before 6 a.m., Texas DPS troopers, as well as the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office and the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department, responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 87 and March Road. According to officials, a Chevrolet SUV and a Toyota pickup were travelling northbound on U.S. 87 when a Ford pickup, traveling westbound on March Road, disregarded a stop sign, entering U.S. 87. The three vehicles collided, resulting in the deaths of the SUV's driver, a 41-year-old, and a 10-year-old passenger. The three other passengers of the SUV were transported to Shannon Medical Center for minor injuries. The drivers of the two pickup trucks received no injuries.
