BROWNWOOD, Texas — A 58-year old Brownwood resident is dead after being seriously injured by a neighbor Nov. 23.
According to the Brownwood Police Department, the communications team received a call at approximately 11:40 p.m. at Wayside Apartments after claims had been made of a man laying on the staircase and covered in blood at 2001 Brady Ave.
The injured man was determined to be Richard Leroy Kittle, and he was soon transported to Hendricks Brownwood Emergency Room after receiving severe head and face injuries.
Kittle was then life-flighted to the Intensive Care Unit of Hendricks North in Abilene because of the severity of his condition.
While investigating the apartment complex, the police department noticed blood on the floor in the direction of a unit on the 2nd floor.
After there was no answer at the door, a search warrant was requested and eventually approved, allowing the SWAT team to enter the residence.
38-year old Brownwood resident James David Harvey admitted to causing Kittle's injuries after an altercation and he was arrested in the Brownwood County Jail for Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
It was later determined Kittle died from his injuries and Harvey was then charged with the Murder of his neighbor.
