SAN ANGELO, Texas — The ceremony was at Louis F. Garland Department of Defense Fire Academy. Featured guest speakers included Col. Thomas Wilson, 17th Training Wing deputy commander and Lt. Col. Branden DeLong, 312th Training Squad commander. Battalion Chief Mike Cook also spoke. Cook is a veteran of the Air Force and was present at the World Trade Center on the day of the attacks. Lieutenant Colonel DeLong told FOX West Texas, for a program with many young members, the memory holds a special significance.
