Abilene FD: Two-alarm building fire causes $90K in damages

ABILENE, Texas — A fire caused an estimated $90,000 in damages to a commercial building on North Mockingbird Lane, the Abilene Fire Department said Wednesday morning.

According to the AFD, at approximately 4:17 a.m. Wednesday, crews responded to a two-alarm commercial structure fire in the 1000 block of North Mockingbird Lane.

AFD fire crews found a fully-involved commercial building with fire venting from the roof and made a defensive attack was made because of the amount of fire involvement.

The roof and back wall of the building completely collapsed during the incident. Fire damage to the structure and contents are estimated at $90,000, the department said.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
