An Abilene man has been charged with aggravated assault with a gun after shooting another man in the leg.
It happened over the weekend, when Abilene Police tell Fox 15 they were called to the scene of a fight at a party.
Police say they questioned the gunman, 25-year-old Zachary Anadon, who admitted to firing his gun out of self defense.
But legal experts tell us some people need to be reminded of what self defense is.
“If you think you are being attacked or approached with deadly force. If you shoot someone in the leg that’s approaching without a weapon, then you very well can be charged,” James Hicks, the Taylor County district attorney, said.
Anadon is currently behind bars in the Taylor County Jail.
