ABILENE, Texas — An Abilene man was killed when a vehicle collided with the motorized bicycle he was riding, according to a release from the Abilene Police Department.
The crash happened just before 9 p.m. Sunday, April 11, in the 4000 block of Pine Street in north Abilene, the release said.
Juan Martinez Jr., 60, of Abilene was pronounced dead at the scene. According to police, Martinez was traveling south on Pine Street when a 2000 Toyota Corolla struck the bicycle from behind.
Martinez suffered extensive injuries from the collision.
Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in this crash.
No citations have been issued, police said, and next of kin notification has been made.
