ABILENE, Texas — The Abilene Police Department’s Major Investigations Bureau is investing the death of an Abilene man they say died days after being injured in a fight.
According to a release from the APD, Christopher Carrion, 45, was taken to the hospital Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, for injuries sustained in a fight days earlier.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital Tuesday, Jan. 4.
The release said Carrion was involved in a mutual fight with a 23-year-old man Dec. 30, 2021, at a home in the 800 block of Ballinger Street in Abilene.
He suffered internal injuries and was later taken to the hospital where he died. This fight was not reported to police at the time it occurred.
No charges have been filed against the other party involved. Investigators are waiting for autopsy results as the investigation continues.
