ABILENE, Texas — UPDATE: An arrest was made Saturday afternoon in this investigation. The suspect was identified as Julion Xavias Arredondo, 26, of Abilene.
On Saturday, June 25, Major Investigations Bureau members, along with Surveillance, Apprehension and Tactics Team (SATT), arrested Arredondo at a home in the 1300 block of Roma Lane.
Arredondo was booked into the Taylor County Jail on a charge of first-degree felony murder and held on a $250,000 bond.
No further investigative updates are expected.
ORIGINAL STORY: A 27-year-old man died early Saturday after being shot, Abilene Police said.
According to the APD, at approximately 1:48 a.m., officers responded to an injured subject call across the street from a bar establishment in the 2400 block of South 7th Street.
The shooting victim was taken to the hospital in a privately-owned vehicle. He died from his injuries at the hospital.
The victim has been positively identified as David Height III, 27, of Abilene. Next of kin notification has been made.
