ABILENE, Texas — Abilene ISD high school students will participate in a "Chopped"-style culinary competition Saturday at The LIFT, the district’s career and technical education facility.
More than 30 culinary arts students from Abilene and Cooper high schools and ATEMS will participate in mystery basket competition throughout the day.
The competition will challenge students to showcase their creativity and skills while thinking quickly under pressure. It will feature three rounds, each with a mystery basket filled with secret ingredients the contestants will have to incorporate into their dishes in a limited time.
Three rounds of competition begin with the first round at 9 a.m. and ending with the final round at 1 p.m. First and second place winners will be announced at 2 p.m.
AISD’s culinary arts program introduces students to occupations and educational opportunities related to planning, directing or coordinating activities in a food and beverage organization.
