ABILENE, Texas —
Two 17-year-olds and a juvenile were arrested by Abilene Police after a 12-year-old girl was injured from a gunshot late Thursday on the city's north side.
The Abilene Police Department said officers responded to a call of an injured person at around 10:19 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, on Graham Street. Officers found the girl who was injured from the gunshot while she was inside her home. Police say the gunshot originated outside the home.
A suspect vehicle was found a short time later and two people, an adult and a juvenile, were detained for questioning.
Elmer Rodriguez, 17, was arrested and charged with second-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held at the Taylor County Jail. The juvenile was also arrested and transported to the Taylor County Juvenile Detention Center.
The victim was taken to an Abilene hospital and was later flown to the Metroplex because of the severity of her injuries.
APD detectives found and arrested a third suspect Friday morning.
Nicholas Baker, 17, is charged with second-degree felony aggravated assault and is being held at the Taylor County Jail.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
