Abilene Police looking for suspect in convenience store robbery incidents

The APD says a man is wanted for robbing a convenience store and trying to rob another early Wednesday morning.

ABILENE, Texas — Abilene Police Department Major Investigations detectives are looking for a man suspected in a convenience store robbery and one attempted robbery that happened early Wednesday morning.

According to the APD, at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to a convenience store in the 5100 block of South 7th Street for a robbery in progress. The store clerk reported a man wearing a mask and dark clothing came into the store, displayed a weapon and demanded money from the clerk. The man ran away from the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

An hour later, at around 3:30 a.m., a second convenience store in the 2500 block of South Clack Street reported a man with a similar description to the earlier incident came into the store, displayed a weapon and demanded money from the clerk, but left without any money.
