ABILENE, Texas — The Abilene Zoo is gearing up for its fifth annual Christmas Celebration. The celebration is from 4-9 p.m. Dec. 15-23.
The event is supported by Reliant Energy and features, as one of its main attractions, a meet and greet with Santa Claus and his reindeer. Visitors will also get a chance to interact with the Grinch.
Anna Delano, Reliant’s Lubbock Regional Manager, said, “We are very passionate about being a positive force in the communities where we live and work, and what’s more fun than lighting up your holiday with the Christmas celebration at the Abilene Zoo.”
In addition to the meet-and-greets with Santa and the Grinch, the event includes a variety of activities for the whole family, such as walking through light displays that include more than 500,000 lights, carousel rides and holiday treats.
Funds generated from the event help in to providing care and ensuring the well-being of the zoo's animals.
