ABILENE, Texas — Abilene Zoo's sixth annual Christmas Celebration powered by Reliant is less than a month away.
The event will be from 4-9 p.m. Dec. 13 - 23 and features nearly one million lights, festive decor and family-friendly seasonal activities.
This year’s Christmas Celebration will once again transform the zoo into a winter wonderland with themed holiday zones and immersive light displays. Guests can meet Santa and his reindeer, skate in an iceless skating rink, decorate a cookie at Mrs. Claus’ Texas Bakery, journey through Beltway’s Walk to Bethlehem, take holiday photos and enjoy seasonal treats including s’mores, hot chocolate and holiday-crafted adult beverages.
Because of popular demand, Santa’s Toy Workshop has expanded, inviting even more young guests to create their own toy and experience the joy of the season in a hands-on way.
“We created Christmas Celebration to bring joy and holiday spirit to the community, and we’re deeply grateful for the incredible support shown for our largest fundraising event of the year,” Jesse Pottebaum, Abilene Zoo director, said. “Each visitor helps us give the best possible care to our animals, create new and surprising experiences for our guests, and brings unforgettable events to the community.”
Admission is $16 per person online and $17 at the ticket window. Abilene Zoo members can purchase discounted admission for $8 online and $9 at the ticket window. Children 2 years of age and under are free. Tickets can be purchased now abilenezoo.org.
