LUBBOCK COUNTY, Texas — The drivers of a pickup truck and a sedan were killed in a head-on collision late Saturday in Lubbock County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said in a preliminary crash report that Christina Elaine Castro, 33, of Abilene, was driving a pickup truck northbound on US Hwy 87 in the south travel lanes. A passenger car, driven by Marcos Noyola Castanon, 23, of Wilson, was traveling south on US 87 southbound.
The two vehicles collided head-on at the crest of the FM 1585 overpass. DPS said both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The report states Castro was not wearing a seat belt.
