Save the date: Dyess AFB announces 2025 air show

ABILENE, Texas — Dyess Air Force Base announced its 2025 air show, "Wings Over West Texas: A Salute to Western Heritage," scheduled to take place Easter weekend, April 19-20, 2025.

Admission and parking for the air show are free.

The Thunderbirds will headline the show, which will feature two performances, one Saturday and another Sunday.

"We are thrilled to welcome the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds to Dyess Air Force Base after a decade,” 7th Bomb Wing deputy commander, Col. Samuel Friend, said. “This event not only showcases the incredible talents of our military aviators but also serves as a salute to our rich Western heritage. It is a testament to the enduring spirit and dedication within the Abilene community."

The air show will feature a wide range of aerial demonstrations, static displays and interactive exhibits. Attendees will have the opportunity to see the capabilities of various aircraft and engage with military personnel to gain insight into the Air Force's mission and operations.

Wings Over West Texas will be a family-friendly event, offering entertainment for all ages with aerial performances, ground displays, food vendors and activities for children.

The 7th Force Support Squadron will have VIP tickets available for purchase and vendors will be on site with food and drinks available to buy.
